Fixing an Ethernet Motion Platform which is unresponsive in SBS but connects correctly in the Ethernet Hardware App (EHA)

If a motion platform performs its homing movement on power on and you are able to connect to it via the EHA but it does not work in SBS then the most likely culprit is that the serial number of the motion base does not match the serial number in the specific vehicles motionbase.lua file. Follow the steps below to verify if the serial numbers in the lua file match the serial number of the motion platform.
  1. Open a specific vehicle's MotionBase.lua file. This is generally located in the Build\Data\Entities\Vehicles\VehicleFolder\Scripts
  2. Scroll down to the line which specifies which motion platform serial numbers the vehicle will be able to connect to.

  3. Next, connect to the motion platform using the Ethernet Hardware App (EHA)
    .
  4. Check that the serial number stated in the EHA is the same as at least one of the serial numbers listed in the lua file.
  5. If the serial numbers do not match, edit the serial number in the EHA so that is matches one of the serial numbers in the lua file.
  6. Save all your changes
    .
  7. Close all open windows and load a scenario in SBS to test if the motion platform now works in SBS.
